Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was photographed at CinemaCon 2026 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, there for Jumanji: Open World, wearing a Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono in rose gold and black titanium. Estimated price: around $50,400.

It is his first appearance on Fashion Place, and a sharper choice than you might expect. Most celebrities at his level reach for a Rolex or a Patek Philippe. This is a watch people tend to ask about.

What it is

The Alpine Eagle is Chopard’s luxury sports watch, launched in 2019. It is a modern take on the St. Moritz from 1980, the first watch designed by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, today Co-President of Chopard. The name comes from the Alps and from the eagle.

This version is the XL Chrono, a 44mm chronograph. The case mixes 18-carat rose gold, which Chopard sources ethically, with black ceramized titanium. That is why it looks two-tone in the photos: polished gold against a matte black.

A flyback, and a certificate

Inside is a chronograph movement made by Chopard itself and certified as a chronometer, meaning it has been independently tested for accuracy. It is also a flyback.

On a normal chronograph, resetting the timer takes three presses: stop, reset, start. A flyback does it in one. Press the reset pusher while the timer is running and it snaps back to zero and starts again straight away. It was invented for pilots timing one leg of a flight after another, and it is still a sign of a serious movement.

Why it is a smart pick

The integrated-bracelet sports watch has been the hottest category in watches for years, led by the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, both of which we have covered on this site. Those are very hard to buy at retail. The Alpine Eagle sits in the same style, made by a family-owned house, and you can actually walk in and get one.

The trade-off is resale. Chopard does not hold value the way Rolex or Patek can, so treat this as a watch to wear rather than an investment.

Where to find one

The position we hold on every page here. Any watch at this price gets copied, and integrated-bracelet designs are copied more than most. There is no cheap version of this watch, and we will not link one.

If you want one, buy it from somewhere that authenticates and gives you papers.

Worth saying

The Rock spends most of his time in a gym and on film sets, and he picked a 44mm watch made partly of titanium. That makes sense on a wrist his size, and on someone who actually uses his hands.

Price checked 18 October 2026 and will move. Watch prices are set by retailers and the secondary market and change with demand. Fashion Place earns a commission on some links at no extra cost to you.
