Lamine Yamal was photographed after Spain beat France in the 2026 World Cup semi-final at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in Everose gold. Estimated price: around $65,000.
It is his second Daytona on this site. The first was the yellow gold diamond version, at around $180,000. This one has no diamonds at all, and for a lot of watch people that makes it the better watch.
What it is
The Daytona is Rolex’s chronograph: a watch with a built-in stopwatch, designed for endurance racing drivers and named after the Daytona Beach races in Florida. The pushers on the side start, stop and reset the timer, and the three small counters on the dial keep track of the elapsed seconds, minutes and hours.
This one is cased in 18k Everose, Rolex’s own rose gold alloy, on a matching Everose Oyster bracelet. The dial is brown with black counters, which works with the warm colour of the gold rather than against it.
What the numbers on the bezel do
The scale engraved around the bezel is a tachymeter. Start the stopwatch at one marker, stop it at the next one a kilometre or a mile later, and the seconds hand points at your average speed on the bezel.
It reads speeds up to 400 units per hour, in kilometres or miles. Nobody at a World Cup semi-final is timing anything with it, but it is the reason the watch looks the way it does.
Gold Daytona, no diamonds
On his diamond Daytona page we explained that most of that price was stones and scarcity. Here the money is in the gold and the name. Take the diamonds away and you get a watch that is easier to wear every day and easier to resell.
Steel Daytonas are famously hard to get at retail. Gold ones are easier to find, but they still trade close to or above their list price on the secondary market.
Where to find one
The position we hold on every page here. The Daytona is among the most counterfeited watches ever made, and gold versions attract convincing fakes. There is no cheap version of this watch, and we will not link one.
If you want one, buy it from somewhere that authenticates and gives you papers.

Worth saying
Yamal wore this with a Spain training shirt straight after a World Cup semi-final win. Team kit and a gold Rolex is quickly becoming his signature. We priced one of his full outfits here.
Price checked 18 October 2026 and will move. Prices for gold Daytona references are set by the secondary market and change with demand. Fashion Place earns a commission on some links at no extra cost to you.
