Rihanna’s Velour Tracksuit Outfit in New York: Get the Look
The original
$5,650
Our version
$167.47
Five pieces credited, $5,650, walking into a New York restaurant at night. It is Rihanna’s second appearance here, after her olive bomber and satin slip.
The centre of it is a velour tracksuit in a warm ochre — zip jacket, wide trousers — worn with red-lensed aviators, a crocodile-effect bag and strappy heels. It is a very 2000s combination, and the tracksuit alone is credited at $2,250.

Credited as two pieces — the jacket at $1,250 and the trousers at $1,000 — but worn as a set, so we have priced it as one.
This is the one piece where the cheap version gets very close. The matching velour tracksuit is the defining casual look of the early 2000s, and it is still easy to find. The set we have linked is the same burnt orange, with a zip-up jacket and wide-leg trousers, and it costs less than a tenth of Chloé’s jacket alone.
Two honest notes. The velour is thinner than Chloé’s cotton blend, so it will not hang quite as heavily. And it has no drawstring at the collar, the one detail that makes the original look expensive.
Choose a warm tone — ochre, rust or tan. Worn as a matching set, never split up.

Price checked 2 October 2026
A structured top-handle bag in glossy golden crocodile-effect leather, carried by hand.
At $1,700 it is almost certainly crocodile-embossed calfskin — leather pressed with the scale pattern — rather than real crocodile, which from Fendi costs many times more. That is also exactly what a cheaper version does, so the two are closer than the price suggests.
Glossy, embossed, tan or honey. The shine is what catches the light at night.

Thin straps in a pale snake-effect leather on a stiletto, just visible under the wide trousers.
The long hem covers most of the shoe, so what shows is a few pale straps and a heel. Nude or snake print, thin straps, a high heel to keep the trousers off the ground.

Gold metal aviators with rose-red tinted lenses.
The aviator is a 1930s pilot’s shape and belongs to nobody. The tinted lens is what makes it — red or pink against the orange tracksuit keeps the whole outfit in one warm colour range. See more on our Louis Vuitton page.
What it costs
Five pieces, $167.47 against $5,650. That is 97.0 per cent less.
And the most satisfying line on this page is the tracksuit. Chloé’s velour set costs $2,250; a matching orange velour set costs $89.99.
The rest is colour. Ochre velour, honey-coloured bag, rose lenses, pale sandals: everything sits in the same warm range, and that is what makes it look deliberate rather than casual.
