Jason Statham Outfit at the Burberry Show in London: Get the Look
The original
$3,950
Our version
$185.73
Four pieces credited, $3,950, arriving at the Burberry show in London. It is Jason Statham’s first appearance on this site.
A note on the labels: it is Burberry’s own show, and three of the four pieces are Burberry. That is normal for front-row guests, who are very often dressed by the house they are there to see.
And the outfit itself is about as plain as menswear gets: a navy flight jacket, a white t-shirt, dark raw jeans and black lace-up boots. Every one of those shapes came from somewhere practical — the military, the workshop, the factory floor.

Navy nylon, a ribbed collar and cuffs, and a zipped pocket on the left sleeve with a small badge.
This is the MA-1 flight jacket, designed for US Air Force pilots in the 1950s — the zipped sleeve pocket was for pens. The company that made the originals for the military, Alpha Industries, still sells the real MA-1 for about $200, if you want the original. Rothco, a military-surplus maker, sells the same shape for around $60.
The one detail neither copies is the badge on Burberry’s sleeve — the Equestrian Knight, Burberry’s own emblem. Leave it off and nobody will miss it.

Four hundred and fifty dollars for a plain white t-shirt — 36 times the price of the one we link. It joins a growing list on this site: Messi’s $700 yellow tee and IShowSpeed’s $820 one. None of the three has a visible logo.
A heavyweight cotton, so it holds its shape under the jacket. That is the only thing worth paying attention to.

Deep indigo, unwashed, regular through the leg and long enough to stack on the boots.
Raw denim is simply denim that has not been washed after dyeing, which is why it is so dark and stiff at first. Pick the darkest rinse Levi’s make in the 505 and keep them long.

Black leather, laced to the ankle, on a thick lug sole.
The name tells you where Burberry’s signature is: the Check, the beige-black-and-red tartan that is Burberry’s registered trademark. On these boots it sits inside, out of sight. We do not link anything that copies it — a plain black lace-up boot on a chunky sole gives you exactly what shows.
What it costs
Four pieces, $185.73 against $3,950. That is 95.3 per cent less.
And this is the purest version of what menswear actually is. A flight jacket, a white t-shirt, raw jeans and work boots — four garments invented for pilots, labourers and soldiers, none of them by a fashion house. The label on each one is the only part that was added later.
