Billie Eilish’s Pink Blouson Outfit in Atlanta: Get the Look
The original
$5,000
Our version
$207.83
Four pieces credited, $5,000, on stage in Atlanta. A pink blouson, black trousers, small oval glasses and a pair of Superstars.
The white shirt and black tie are not credited, and they are the reason this outfit reads the way it does. Without them it is a pink jacket and black trousers; with them it is a schoolboy uniform with the jacket zipped over the top.

Pink, cropped to the waist, zip front, with a soft collar and elasticated hem. Gabardine is a tightly woven twill — the fabric Burberry built the trench coat on — and Prada’s “old” version is treated to look worn rather than new.
The colour is the entire outfit. Everything else she is wearing is black or white. This one pink object is what you actually remember from the photograph, and it needs to be a proper mid-pink rather than a pale blush or a hot fuchsia.
Cropped and boxy. It has to end at the waist so the black trousers start cleanly underneath.

Black, high-waisted, falling straight and loose to the shoe with a slight break. Deliberately oversized rather than tailored to the leg.
$1,800 for black trousers is the hardest number on this page. There is no pattern, no hardware, no visible construction beyond a very good drape. What you are paying for is the weight of the cloth and the cut — both real, both largely invisible in a stage photograph.
Loose through the thigh, straight to the hem, long enough to break over the shoe. Not tapered.

This is the same shoe underneath. The CLOT collaboration takes an adidas Superstar — a shoe that has been in production since 1969 and is one of the cheapest things adidas makes — and rebuilds it in dress leather with a brogue treatment.
A standard black Superstar is $95. It is a real adidas, the same silhouette, the same rubber shell toe, and it is what you see from the audience.
The same pattern keeps appearing on this site: adidas with Willy Chavarria, Levi’s with Junya Watanabe. When a designer collaborates with a mass brand, the mass brand still sells the base garment for a fraction of the price.

Nineteen dollars for the two, uncredited, and load-bearing.
The collar sits outside the jacket and the tie runs down inside the zip. That vertical white-and-black line down the centre of a pink jacket is the only detail in the upper half of the outfit, and it is what stops the blouson reading as sportswear.
Thin tie, not wide. And the collar has to be worn out over the jacket rather than tucked under — it is the contrast at the neck doing the work.
The $18.88 covers the shirt; the skinny tie is $6.29 separately.

Very small, very thin, oval wire frames sitting low. Clear lenses, not tinted.
These are the hardest item to get wrong and the easiest to get right. The whole effect is that the frame almost disappears — a thin gold or silver wire and nothing else.
Small is the point. Anything with visible plastic or a heavy brow changes the face entirely.
What it costs
Six pieces, $207.83 against $5,000. That is 95.8 per cent less.
But look at where it went. The two Prada items alone were $4,100 — a pink jacket and black trousers — and we replaced them for $76.97. Meanwhile the shoes cost us $95, more than either garment, because we bought the real ones.
And the two uncredited items cost $19. A white shirt and a thin black tie, listed nowhere, doing more for this outfit than the $1,800 trousers.
