50 Cent’s Givenchy Shirt Outfit in New York: Get the Look
The original
$2,895
Our version
$169.89
Four pieces credited, $2,895, on stage in New York. It is 50 Cent’s second appearance here, after his all-black look in the same city.
The most expensive piece is also the one we cannot copy. The shirt is covered in the word GIVENCHY, printed dozens of times. The print is the logo, and the logo is the design. That shapes the whole page.
The white t-shirt underneath is not credited, and the chain and watch are not priced.

Satin short sleeve shirt, navy

Navy silk, short sleeves, a camp collar, worn open over a white t-shirt. And across every panel, “GIVENCHY PARIS” in pale letters, running in every direction.
That lettering is exactly what we do not copy. A shirt printed with another company’s name is a counterfeit by definition — the same line we hold on the Louis Vuitton monogram and the Gucci stripe. There is no version of this print that is both similar and legitimate.
So we are honest about what our alternative is: a plain navy satin shirt with the same collar, the same sheen and the same short sleeves, and none of the lettering. It gets you the silhouette and the way it catches stage light. It does not get you the word Givenchy, and on this shirt the word Givenchy is most of what you are paying for.
Wear it open, unbuttoned, over the white tee. That is how it reads in the photograph.

This is the same cap. A real New Era, with the real Yankees logo, currently below the credited price.
New Era is the official on-field cap maker for Major League Baseball, and the interlocking NY is the most-worn team logo in the world. There is nothing to replace here — the original is already an ordinary retail product. Buy the real one; a fake Yankees cap is still a fake.

Plain white, worn under the open shirt and hanging below it.
It is the brightest thing on stage and the reason the navy shirt reads as a layer rather than just a shirt. Heavyweight and relaxed, so it hangs straight rather than clinging.

Light-wash, straight leg, a regular fit through the thigh, falling straight to the trainers. In the photograph they read as ordinary faded denim.
Which makes the obvious choice a real pair of Levi’s. The 505 is Levi’s regular-fit straight leg — a little roomier than the 501 — and a light wash gives you exactly this.

Grey, low-top, a sporty shape mixing smooth panels with mesh. The America’s Cup is one of Prada’s best-known trainers, named for the sailing race in which Prada’s Luna Rossa team competes.
The shape itself is a generic sporty low-top. What makes a Prada a Prada is the logo plate, and that is the part we leave out. Grey or silver, low, a mix of smooth and mesh.
What it costs
Five pieces, $169.89 against $2,895. That is 94.1 per cent less.
But the more useful thing on this page is the honesty about the shirt. Most of what makes 50 Cent’s outfit recognisable is a word printed on it — and a word is the one thing no alternative can legitimately give you.
Everything else is easy. The cap is the real one, the jeans are real Levi’s, and a plain navy satin shirt over a white tee gets you the silhouette. What you give up is the brand name. Whether that is worth $1,100 is the only real question here.
